Website

I think we really should get a good looking design on our website. We're using drupal on this site. I don't know much about drupal templating. We could adapt a drupal theme, and switch the graphics/tweak CSS. I don't think basing it off the tsunami theme is a good idea because it's a darker looking theme. I'd like to have a theme that is web 2.0 styled. I'd also like to see a lot of javascript being used, our website should represent what kinds of things you will expect to see in the desktop. For example, we could have a bar of screenshots, and as you mouse over each one, it expands over the demo login form and the description.

@psych I know this is old

@psych

I know this is old news but... I just "re"discovered you. I was here somewhen between 1 and 2 years ago...

A question : why not simply make phychdestop.net "a desktop" ? That would go a long way to show off you system.

Just my 2 cents...

Beta3 isn't working in IE,

Beta3 isn't working in IE, we've got a few bugs that need to be fixed.

The problem with making the site the desktop would be that it's bad for search engines. Another reason is because the site would feel like an application, rather then content.

I do agree that we should emphasize a demonstration though. The new site design will place more emphasis on the demo.

I've also been thinking about implementing gradual interaction, where the user gets to use a guest account before they sign up for a real account. An example of this would be netvibes.

Where is the discussion?

Where is the discussion? This site is so quiet!

Ok, so I have an excuse :).

Ok, so I have an excuse :). The forum module for drupal has no rss feed, which is how I usually get notified on new forum posts. On the new site, the forum section is much better, and has RSS feed support.

The new site should be done pretty soon. It's just a matter of finishing our 1.0 release, and writing some content for the new site. There are also some little things that have to be coded, but they shouldn't take too long. Also, Steven said he may want to revise the site design a bit, so I'll give him some time to do that.

Discussion Anyone?

Yes, it is very quiet here for the time being. This is something we anticipate will fade away as the project progresses, becomes better known and the community grows. Things are changing around here as well, with a new website on the way, new content will be made available as well.

I couldn't find any major problems with it, so I made it default.
